Kri
Kri is an experimental vocalist, performer, and producer based in southeast London. Kri’s work focuses on the voice, exploring the connection between the voice and body through extended technique, performance-based work and as a conceptual basis for composition. Kri has composed and performed pieces for multiple vocalists, string quartet, voice and violin and self-produced her own electronic music. Gregorian chant has become a recurring theme in Kri’s work, with a particular interest in the juxtaposition between underlying sensuality within a religious context and how this extends to the treatment of the feminine voice and body connection/separation in vocal music. "Pulvere" (to dust) takes influence from Hildegard von Bingen’s chant; O Dulcissime amateur (O lover sweet).
